The BUMP Range was created especially for surfoiling by surfoilers. Nothing has been left to chance, every detail of the wings has been studied, tested and approved by our team of amateurs and experts. As in all our ranges, we offer you an easy, high-performance foil with a minimum of parts for the widest possible range of use.

This wing is perfect for pumping without getting tired, ideal for low wind conditions in WING, small waves in SURF or going for a dock start session. It flies at very low speed while maintaining gliding and maneuverability to intercept and follow the slightest undulations in the water.

It will turn your head, but especially your board. This highly maneuverable wing, which flies at very low speed, is perfect for wave conditions of 0.5m to 1.5m. A real toy as pleasant in SURFING as in WING.

The dihedral

The dihedral of your wing will influence the stability in curves.

ACTIV wings have straight tips.

With a plane dihedral, the vertical resultant decreases proportionally to the inclination of the wing. Piloting in curves requires being in opposition on the wing at moderate speed.

BUMP wings have raised tips

With the BUMP dihedral a vertical result appears at the wing tip creating additional support. This will allow the wing tip to pivot and maintain lift in low speed curves.

Outline

The outline will strongly influence the handling and glide of a wing. High aspect ratio allowing glide and lift to be maintained at low speed

  1. Low sag on the leading edge to favor pumping and maneuverability.
  2. Larger arrow on the tips. Increases stability and limits ventilation.
  3. Trailing edge with dropout to create a pressure differential and limit wing ventilation.

Tips

The geometry of the tips will affect ventilation and maneuverability.

The twisting of the tips limits the pressure at the wing tip and prevents stalling.

With our BUMP wings, we have created a high pressure zone that expels air bubbles.

Air bubbles are pushed out by the high pressures.

Profiles

The wing profiles will affect lift, low speed tolerance and glide.

The Bump profile has a low thickness in order to favor gliding.

 

The camber of the BUMP profile allows you to maintain lift at low speed and grip at high angles of attack.

Bumps

Bumps will influence low speed stalling, handling and stability in rough environments.

The BUMPS will create zones of high and low pressure causing disturbances on the extrados, these disturbances will allow the flow to be caught on the profile at high angles of incidence.

  1. We dented this area in which more than 80% of the wing’s lift occurs.
  2. On the wing tips subject to changes in the air/water environment, we have not put any bumps in order to have a homogeneous reduction in lift.
